Good Food and Good Company

We attended the rehearsal dinner for The Chef's cousin last night. They chose a place called Brio Tuscan Grill for dinner. All I can say is wow. Best food I've had in a long, long time. They served it family style, with an appetizer course of fried calamari and pepperoncini, followed by two tossed salads. Next came the entrees - gorgeous stuffed pasta in vodka sauce, char broiled pork chops on the bone, the best citrus glazed salmon I've ever eaten, garlic mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. I remember remarking at dinner that the salmon was so good it must have spent half its life swimming in butter.

We sat at a mixed table so we met some new people too. I met one of the guys that was at the bachelor party with The Chef and we all met a lovely couple who drove down from Canada for the wedding. He's Canadian and she hails from Chile. It was a really interesting dinner conversation.

All in all it was a lovely night, now on to the wedding today.

Song for today is "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" by REM - seeing as supposedly the world is ending today. See you tomorrow.
