Parenting is Hard (Day 20)

Day 19

The Chef and I have been fluctuating between Authoritative and Permissive styles of parenting and basically only succeeded in confusing The Girl and creating frustration for ourselves.

You become a parent without having any idea what you're doing. I often feel that I have no outlet for the frustration (and even resentment) that can build up during the day. I'm hoping that educating myself with a different strategy will help.

  1. I like the new design! I swear we have the same lives! Madison has been acting up lately. I know it is because i started watching a 4 yr old Mon-Wed and he demands a lot of attention, because he does not listen well. Carter is more active and my husband just started school full time and works so she is fight for both of our attention. It is a never ending battle to reassure her that she is still out #1 Girl and Carter is our #1 boy!
I also yell a lot (moody, I would explain but I dont want everyone of your readers to know that story ha ha) so I have notice she is picking up on that. I will have to try and stop that one quick!!

    Good Luck!

  2. Thanks! So far so good today. Right now I'm focusing on spending more one on one time with her before we initiate any official new strategy. I thought it best to make a fresh start.

  3. A fresh start sounds good.I watched twins on sat. that were one and my two kids and it was quieter and easier than just my kids and the boy that I watch. I wish that him and Madison got along better so that she would be happier. That is a battle I have not yet figured out.

Feel free to vent to me when ever you need to! I understand what it can be like! mholerud@hotmail.com
