Day 2

This morning I attended The Girl's preschool parent-teacher conference. Yes, you read that correctly. I thought I had more time before school got serious enough to require a conference. But I digress . . . As I drove over to the school leaving The Chef, The Girl and The Boy at home, I had a few minutes of alone time in the car. (This is not a common occurrence, as most mothers could confirm. You forget how nice it is to just be in the car with the radio on, glancing out the window as the world passes by. These moments are normally peppered with some form of distraction emanating from the occupied car seats behind me. Don't even get me started on the little bit of heaven that is grocery shopping by myself.)

This is the first real day of my 365 photo challenge. Today I must find something interesting to photograph. But what? I'm not a photographer, nor am I entirely certain how one finds interesting things to photograph. Yet somehow as I began to look around I discovered plenty of choices. It seems that if you set out looking for something to photograph you end up finding things to photograph. Isn't that a revelation!

Okay, so revelation is a bit strong. Okay, more than a bit strong. But not only did I find a neat spot today, I found some things I would love to photograph another day. I also discovered that this whole idea could spawn a crime spree. Yesterday I stole an idea. Today I contemplated how best to trespass onto someone's property to aquire access to my photo subjects. What's next? Perhaps a foray into jaywalking?

Here is my challenge to you today - Look around you, look in your office, out your window, in your kitchen. I guarantee your eye will find something worth taking a second look at. Instead of charging through your Tuesday take a moment or two to really notice something regular or everyday. I discovered that even those pesky Canadian Geese provide a bit of beauty on a frozen January day. If you can find your image within the limits of the legal system, more power to you. You've clearly got a leg up on me.
