Why?

Today, like many other days, The Girl has a case of the whys. Also, being her mother's daughter she has a difficult time not talking. Some days I manage to handle it well. Other days I want to rip my ears off, shove them in the freezer and leave them there for a while. Today, well you can guess what kind of day today is.

Some of the questions are simple and easily answered. For example - "Why does Dr. Jaber have that paper on the big table in the office?" Others force me to either make something up or tell her that I don't know. Others are just plain interesting. Take "Why can't you make fries out of Mr. Potato Head?" for example.

I'm not sure which I find more challenging, the incessant questions or the almost constant talking. Thankfully The Girl is old enough to entertain herself for a while. She is still talking, but not to me. It's a change at least.

So without further ado, here is a small sampling of the questions I've gotten today

1) Why don't Rex's feet move?
2) Why do dinosaurs have feet?
3) Why do people have hair?
4) Why does Dr. Jaber have hair on his arms?
5) Why do people talk about stuff? (this one is a favorite of mine today)
6) Why does that pig only have three toes?
7) Why does does Buzz wear a spacesuit?
8) Why do you have to pay attention when you drive the car?
9) Why is that candy not chocolate?
10) Why do people be quiet?

I am sure that one day I will look back at this stage and smile. Remember when The Girl used to . . . .

Right now I am counting down the minutes until nap time.

PS:  While not the most amazing photo, I found it interesting.  I pointed the camera at The Boy's mirror in the car and snapped a picture without looking.  Turns out he was looking right at the camera.  Silly boy.
