FREE FRIDAY!

It's that time again, Free Friday is back!

Lowes:  This Saturday (7/9) from 10am – 11am, Lowe’s is having another free kids workshop. Your child will get to make the tow truck pictured. All the supplies are free and your child will get an apron and completion patch at the end of the workshop.

Go HERE to register.

Westfield Mall: I'm not sure if this is all locations or just the one near me, but today (7/8) and on the 22nd Westfield Mall is sponsoring a painting &  craft day. Today from noon until 1:00 you can go to the food court for a story and craft. The kids will be painting a flower pot. How cute is that! On the 22nd, they will be painting a self portrait. Snacks will be provided as well. I'm always on the lookout for free activities and this one sounds great.

Toys R Us: Today and tomorrow Toys R Us has all of their Fisher Price infant toys Buy One Get One Free! This could be really great if you are planning holiday gifts or have a baby shower/birthday party coming up!

Smokey Bones:  If you need a break from your kitchen, eat out for a little less with the new Smokey Bones coupon. Get buy one get one free entrees through 7/10! I've never eaten here, but I've heard that it's yummy.

PetCo:  This weekend, Royal Canin is holding a “Get One, Give One” event at Petco stores nationwide. From July 8th – 10th, Petco will be giving away two free cans of Royal Canin cat food.

For every can given away, they will make a donation to the Petco Foundation. This is a great opportunity to get some free cat food and help a good cause too.

Snapfish:  There’s a great deal on prints right now from Snapfish. Get 99 photo prints for only $.99. That works out to just $.01 each! Just use coupon code JULYPENNY99 at checkout. You do have to pay shipping and the code expires at midnight tonight (7/8).

Dairy Queen:  Sign up for Dairy Queen’s Blizzard Fan Club and you’ll get a coupon for Buy 1 Get One Free Blizzards in your email! Plus, you’ll get another Buy One Get One Free coupon on July 13th! I have not had a Blizzard in ages, but it sounds really good right now!

Note: If you are already a Blizzard Fan club member, you won’t get the first coupon, but you will get the second one

Brookfield Zoo:  Would you rather go head-to-head with your favorite Chicago teams or a real bear or bull?  Brookfield Zoo visitors can do both this summer as the zoo celebrates Chicago’s professional sports teams with “REAL FAN DAYS.”

Beginning on Friday, July 8, on seven select weekends through September 4 a sports team will be featured along with the connections it shares to animals throughout the zoo and at the new Great Bear Wilderness exhibit.

Visitors who wear a featured team’s apparel on the REAL FAN DAYS weekend will receive a 20 percent discount off zoo admission.

Free Activities Include:
  1. Visitors will have the chance to meet players from the weekends featured team, along with the team mascot.
  2. A scavenger hunt will teach facts about the team’s players and zoo animals, associating sports skills with a team’s iconic animal or other animals within the zoo. Anyone who finishes the hunt can enter into a drawing for tickets to a game.
  3. Visitors can test their athletic abilities through inflatable sports centers and skill games featured on the West Mall.
  4. Special Zoo Chats will be all about the animals within the Great Bear Wilderness exhibit and throughout the zoo.
  5. Visitors wanting to test their sport broadcasting abilities can try their hand announcing memorable team moments at a broadcast “karaoke” booth. For example, Chicago Bulls fans will be able to announce the starting lineup, Chicago Cubs fans will be able to lead the crowd in singing the historic seventh inning stretch and Chicago White Sox fans will be able to join in a special rendition of “- Na-na-na, Na-na-na-na, Hey-hey-hey, Go-od-bye.”
  6. A memorabilia museum will display rare player keepsakes, trophies, and media keepsakes that tell the history of the featured team and its fans.
  7. Each weekend will also include additional activities specifically tailored to the featured team.
